The Anytime Fruit Smoothie really is a smoothie that you can drink anytime you want a smoothie. Ideal for breakfast when you are short on time, when the kiddos need an afternoon snack, or if you need a pick-me-up. Easy to make several packs ahead of time and freeze!
- 1- 16 oz. bag of sliced frozen peaches
- 1-pint fresh blueberries
- 1-pound fresh strawberries- quartered
- 3-bananas/ quartered
- natural blueberry/pomegranate or acai juice
How to make freezer packs:
Distribute the fruit evenly between three bags. I like to use my vacuum sealer for these packages because it does a better job keeping the fruit from getting freezer burn. As an alternative to using a vacuum sealer, quart size zipper bags work well.
Take a pre-packaged bag of the fruit for the smoothie out of the freezer a few minutes before you wish to blend. The frozen fruit omits the need for ice in the mixture. Add all fruit to a blender (or glass pitcher and use an immersion blender), and add 1/3 of a jar of natural blueberry/pomegranate or acai juice. More if you prefer a less shake like smoothie.
Add a scoop of protein powder when blending for more of a meal replacement smoothie. You can also change the fruit to what you prefer. Have fun customizing them!
